‘Walk around the World’

On the 21st September 2015 TSN Malta organised the intercultural event ‘Walk around the World’ at Smart City. In this event different TCN, European and local organisations presented their food, culture, music and dance. Cultures represented in the event were from Malta, India, Philippines, Sudan, Morocco, Syria, Brazil, Libya, Egypt, Russia, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Spain, the Caribbean, Tunisia, Greece and Pakistan. Various local performers also took part. It is estimated that 900 people visited the event, including children and people from around the world. Her Excellency, Dolores Christina, Acting President of Malta, the Ambassador of Russia, His Excellency Mr. Vladimir Malygin, other dignitaries, and officials from Ministries of the Government of Malta visited the event.

There were also activities for children where they learnt about the world such as dressing up of costumes, face painting, and learning to make traditional crafts. The Maltese singer Ms Olivia Lewis opened the event with popular Maltese songs, “Xemx”, “L-ahhar bidwi” and “Il-Bajja tal-Mellieha”.
